2014 is kicking off to a rocking start, but before January is done, and we start the year in earnest, I’d like to take a walk down memory lane and look at some of the top online product videos our clients put up in 2013.
5 Product Video Integrations We Loved in 2013
Over the years we’ve often recognized the best videos we’ve encountered on our clients’ websites as a source of inspiration. So without further ado, here’s a selection for anyone thinking about reaping the benefits of product videos this coming year…
1. The Woodwind & Brasswind
The Woodwind and Brasswind is one of those rare gems for which the web was made – a true specialty shop defined primarily by the range of products it carries, rather than a location or pricing strategy. Dealing in musical instruments makes presentation of products a rather straightforward matter. The video player is integrated via adding a video-play button to the existing product page for a rapid, hassle free deployment.
Over the years we’ve had the opportunity to work with quite a few jewelry providers, and indeed we’ve proven Jewelry to be one of the product niche’s where product videos can make a very important contribution to the bottom line.
Discounted gadget sites tend to struggle with not only with shoppers’ short attention spans, but also with the need to convey what may often be a fairly technical spec list, in a very short time-span. Obviously product videos have a lot to offer in this respect…
Battery chargers are rarely considered aesthetically pleasing, and consequently many of the sites that deal in them do a rather shabby job of presenting them.
This became ToolHQ’s opportunity. Choosing to adopt product videos, investing in a stunning custom video template, and presenting the resulting clips embedded in the product pages pages not only greatly improved product presentations, it also made a big difference to visitor’s purchasing behaviour.
5. Health Designs – Cellucor, Vortex Portable Mixer 18 Fl. Oz. Our final favorite video of the year comes from Health designs, a simple, yet super effective explainer video. It might just be eggs, cocktails, juice or baby formula, but this portable mixer is inspring.
